Hot and Cold

My new companion is Hermana Perry, she is literally an angel. She is so so kind and sweet and spiritual and so close to the Lord. I am very privileged to be able to be surrounded by her lovely example and spirit. She is from Taylorsville and she has been in the mission 10 months, so just 3 months longer than me! (my 7 month mark was on friday:) she is very very shy. so president says my confidence will really help her, haha.. he understates my confidence. but we work really well together and she is a great missionary. 

Well this week was a serious struggle..

i feel like my mission life is like the Katy Perry song Hot and Cold.. because its seriously so up and down. two weeks ago we had an amazing week with the Lords work. and then this last week was poopy. to put it truthfully.. it was really rough! lots of things didn't work out as planned. i get super down asking what have a done wrong to not receive the blessings? but God has a plan and its greater than mine. patience is a virtue i haven't perfected yet. i was reading in Alma 26 this morning and it was really good for me. it states a lot of Christlike attributes and talks about missionary work and patience. :)

anyways, im done pouting.

tomorrow we are getting iPads! yayyyyy

everything else is great, it rains a lot.. we had a hurricane warning on sunday.. that was fun. we were walking up to our ankles in water last week and i caught a little baby frog.

You wouldn't even believe how awesome this last week was. 

So last Monday, we went to Walmart to shop and then after we left to our 6 o'clock appointment. Once we got to our investigators apartment, I realized I didn't have my purse. I had left it in the cart! I was freaking out, we drove back as fast as TiWi would let us. I was praying the whole way there that I could find my purse. I blame my companion because she was the one that put the cart away and i guess she just like didn't realize my purse was still in there? I think she did it on purpose because she hates me. Our area is kinda sketchy and full of homeless people so I figured it would not still be there. We went back to the carts where we put outside but it wasn't there. I was so freaking out. My purse has everything in it:( like my scriptures, camera,and wallet! so we went into the store to the customer service, and someone had turned it into the desk! and nothing was taken. so blessed! 

Then after that we went knocking and found a family that let us in right away and let us teach them and come back! 

Then on Tuesday, we started teaching our recent converts mom and she's interested!

Then on Wednesday we found 2 new investigators contacting. One of them is Claudia and we taught her the Plan of salvation because he husband died. we asked her at the end if she wanted an eternal family she said yes but it wasn't possible because her husband wasn't baptized. so then we were like, well TEMPLE WORK. yeah, this gospel is so perfect. then we found another new investigator from a part-member family.

Then on Thursday we found another one, and Friday 2 more, and Saturday another! We found a total of 11 new investigators this week which is really really good. usually 2 or 3 is normal. our Zone leaders called us because they couldn't even believe it! also we had a bunch of member present lessons this week and it was just super successful all together. I am very happy. Also very happy for transfers tomorrow to get my new companion!

I just want to share my testimony that I know the Lord answers our prayers:) and loves to bless us when we ask.

If you guys could all pray for my spanish to get better and that i will have the gift of tongues it will be greatly appreciated:) gracias!

I love my family

so yesterday i got to skype with my family and it was the best day everrrr. it was so good to see them and talk with them. and David got confirmed yesterday and that was awesome. and we had 4 other investigators at church! we also had a lot of lessons this last week and it was just awesome.

 we had zone conference this last week and that was awesome mostly because i have the best mission president ever. he is so spiritual powerful. we learned about why we have commandments. why have them not as restrictions but actually to make us free! with out the commandents, there would be no plan of redemption. when we are not keeping the commandments, we are in satans grasp, and we no longer can enjoy the gift that our Father gave us, agency.

nothing else super extravagant happened this last week. its still super hot and i mostly want to die every time i walk outside. the tan lines are starting to come in.

Feliz dia de Madres

So this past week was awesome as always. Lots of blessings and miracles. 

we had David's baptism this weekend! he is the cutest. and lots of lessons.

something cool was last Tuesday our citas fell through so we were just walking around a apartment complex and there was this cute hispanic lady and she was carrying grocery bags, we asked if we could help her, and they usually always say no, but she was like, im looking for my daughters apartment but i cant find it, can you help me? so we started to walk with her and help her, she asked if we were going to school around here, we said no and stated our purpose as missionaries. than she was like, yeah you are angels that God put in my path, i know it. you guys are here to help people." and yep, we are! than she was like, i want you to meet my son and daughter some day!" and then she gave us this head bands that she made. its was super cool.

hopefully we'll have a couple more baptisms this month! 

im super excited to skype my fam this week:) shot out to my brother for taking state and my sister and her marathon and my step sister for making cheer and my stepmom for always taking care of me out here and my cousin Cache for his mission call!

so we have zone conference this week on wednesday and i have been studying for my talk about why God gives us commandments. in Alma 12 it says without commandments, there would be no plan of redemption/salvation. so i think they are pretty important! i have been very blessed to teach the plan of salvation to others here on the mission. i think its my favorite part. i have such a strong testimony of the importance of this plan and it makes me to happy when i help others realize and accept this plan of happiness! 

i challenge everyone this week to share this plan with someone you know that doesnt have the knowledge of Gods plan for all his children, i promise it will bring you as much happiness as them:)
